If you believe that God is and was always the same, then the time and change captured in the Bible was God revealing himself in a new way to humanity. Which means God could still be unfolding and revealing himself in new ways. It doesn’t mean God is changing. It means humanity is changing.

Questions.

There are things that come up for me that I have to take a breath and really, intentionally look at because the anger and grief can make me want to just throw it all away. So that’s why I’m not in a rush to “settle.” I know there’s a lot of emotion wrapped up in it all for me and I refuse to just push past it to make myself, or others, more comfortable.

…they don’t like to call it deconstruction, but disorientation. Because no one chooses this. No one chooses to tear apart everything they’ve ever known. No one chooses to uproot community and relationships and defining beliefs out of nowhere. It just…happens.

Humanity isn’t black and white. It’s gray. Yes, there ARE people who are closed-minded and hateful and complicit and should absolutely be called out and brought to justice, but there are also people who are TRYING. There are people dealing with their own traumas and undoing. Who are working to learn, and we have GOT to allow space for them.

I like things. I want to be wealthy. I want nice things. I want to travel. I like nice clothes. I like nice food. I dream of extensive self care routine with massage and facials and stuff. I want a car with self start so I can warm it up on cold days from inside the house. And I hate it. I absolutely despise that part of myself.
